Biography Mr. Smith came to Lee & Associates in October 2005 from Cushman & Wakefield, where he specialized in industrial real estate sales and leasing - tenant and landlord representation. Mr. Smith has specialized in industrial real estate since 1986, beginning his career with Daum Corporation. In 1989 Mr. Smith was recruited by Matlow-Kennedy Commercial, which was subsequently acquired by Cushman & Wakefield.
Career History / Professional Recognition Mr. Smith served as 2004 President of AIR Commercial Real Estate Association (www.airea.com) and currently serves as an Executive Director. As a board member, Mr. Smith also served as Chairman of the Education Committee, Chairman of the Forms Committee, member of the Budget & Finance Committee, Orientation Committee and is currently Vice Chairman of the Arbitration Committee.
Affiliations / Education Working with top real estate industry attorneys, Mr. Smith was instrumental in redrafting several of the AIR sale and lease forms that are in use today. These forms set the standard in the commercial real estate industry. Mr. Smith has lectured in the use of the Industrial Net Lease form to the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR).
During his tenure as AIR President, Mr. Smith laid the groundwork for, and oversaw expansion of the organization into the Inland Empire. AIR opened its Ontario office in May of 2005.
