The Port of Savannah, the largest single-terminal container facility in North America, is comprised of two, deep-water terminals: Garden City Terminal and Ocean Terminal. Garden City Terminal is the fourth busiest container handling facilities in the United States, encompassing more than 1,200 acres and moving millions of tons of containerized cargo annually. Ocean Terminal covers 200 acres and provides customers with more than 1.4 million SF of covered storage.

SHEP, the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project, is one of the most important and productive civil works projects in the country. SHEP will deepen the Savannah River to 47 feet at mean low water, resulting in a $84 billion total economic impact of Georgia’s deep-water ports.
