COLUMBIA, MD<\/strong> \u2013 (September 30, 2021) \u2013 Kate Jordan<\/strong>, SIOR, Principal of Lee & Associates | Maryland<\/strong>, has been elected President of the Maryland, District of Columbia and Northern Virginia Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS\u00ae<\/strong> (SIOR). The local chapter of the national organization encompasses the District of Columbia, the state of Maryland and the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William, as well as the cities of Alexandria, Falls Church and Manassas within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Jordan also serves as Vice President for NAIOP Maryland<\/strong>, the local association of NAIOP which represents the interests of the commercial real estate industry throughout the state.<\/p>\n

Jordan becomes the third female to hold this distinction for the local SIOR Chapter and, nationally, there are currently three women presidents among the 48 chapters.<\/p>\n

The SIOR designation represents a professional achievement for highly-qualified commercial real estate practitioners with a strong and sustained transactional history in brokerage, fee-based services or executive management. SIOR members work exclusively in the industrial and office sector of real estate, while also functioning in sales management, executive management and advisory services functions. The local chapter, part of a network of nearly fifty chapters located throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, contains approximately sixty members.<\/p>\n

\u201cCommercial real estate professionals are required to earn their way into SIOR membership based on a multitude of factors such as transactional history and the demonstration of sustained professional ethics, which positions our group extremely differently among all other real estate organizations,\u201d explained.
