809 Broadway Lease Brings Chubby Bowls to Greenwich Village
A new tenant is coming to Greenwich Village as Chubby Group has signed an 809 Broadway lease to open its latest quick-service restaurant concept, Chubby Bowls. The restaurant will occupy approximately 5,200 square feet at the property, adding another food-focused tenant to the growing retail corridor along Broadway.
As part of the 809 Broadway lease, Chubby Bowls will take 3,900 square feet on the ground floor and an additional 1,300 square feet on the lower level. The restaurant will feature advanced automated cooking equipment designed to prepare fresh wagyu beef, marking a tech-forward expansion for the brand.
Chubby Bowls expands Chubby Group’s national portfolio, which includes more than 60 locations across the country. Other concepts under the group’s umbrella include the hand-roll bar Chubby Nori and the sukiyaki-focused Yumiyaki.
Both Chubby Nori and Yumiyaki are also scheduled to open later this year at Tony Park’s mixed-use property at 21 West 35th Street, further strengthening the group’s presence in Manhattan’s dining scene.
The 15-year 809 Broadway lease carried an asking rent of $130 per square foot. Lee & Associates NYC represented both Chubby Group and the landlord, 809 Broadway Holdings LLC, in the transaction.
Following the deal, Lee & Associates NYC was named the exclusive agency for the entire 13-story, 35,700-square-foot building. The property offers amenities including a private garden and dedicated conference facilities.
