Chubby Bowls to open in Greenwich Village
Chubby Group is set to introduce its new quick-service restaurant, Chubby Bowls, in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village. The restaurant will occupy approximately 5,200 square feet at 809 Broadway, with 3,900 square feet on the ground floor and 1,300 square feet on the lower level. Chubby Bowls will feature advanced automated cooking machines serving fresh wagyu beef. This addition expands Chubby Group’s portfolio, which includes 60 locations nationwide, such as the hand-roll bar concept Chubby Nori and sukiyaki concept Yumiyaki.
Both Chubby Nori and Yumiyaki are slated to open this year at Tony Park’s mixed-use property at 21 W. 35th St. The 15-year lease for Chubby Bowls had an asking rent of $130 per square foot. Lee & Associates NYC represented both Chubby Group and the landlord, 809 Broadway Holdings LLC, in the deal. The firm is now the exclusive agency for the entire 13-story, 35,700-square-foot building, which offers amenities like a private garden and dedicated conference facilities. Plans for the 3,000-square-foot second floor include attracting tenants such as an art gallery, high-end medical spa, or boutique fitness concept.
