Saturday April 13th, 2019, the Lee & Associates South Florida Team got together to give back and participate in Miami-Dade County’s annual Baynanza  Biscayne Bay Beach Clean Up event. We had the opportunity to come together with our community to remove trash and debris on Virginia Key Beach, which only weeks prior had hosted the famed Ultra Music Festival. The Team started the day at 9 am, getting registered and then set-off on our cleanup, collecting all sorts of things including cigarette butts, plastics of all sorts, and lots and lots of glass among other debris.

This year marks the 37th anniversary of the Baynanza Biscayne Beach Clean Up Day organized by Miami-Dade County. The event provides participants from the community an opportunity to help keep Miami’s beaches and parks clean. While Baynanza has now grown to include more than 25 unique Earth Day inspired events over the course five weeks throughout March and April, the Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day event continues to enlist thousands of local volunteers and is an important community-wide effort to help bring the Bay back to health.

After the event, the team stuck around for a lovely picnic on the beach together! Don’t worry - we made sure to clean up after ourselves afterwards.
