Commercial real estate brokerage firm Lee & Associates has plans for a new regional headquarters in downtown Cary, with designs calling for three stories of mixed-use space.

Earlier this month, the company filed its first set of site plans for the project, which show 21,000 square feet of space including two stories of offices over ground-floor retail.

The project is situated on 0.6 acres at 413 Kildaire Farm Road across the street from the Cary Regional Library, the Academy Park project and the site for the Downtown Cary Park.

Moss Withers, Lee & Associates president and principal, said that staff will have the option to invest in and have ownership in the building if they so choose. Tenants will include Lee & Associates as well as any retailers who lease the ground-floor space.

“We’re super excited about it,” Withers said. “We want it to be owned by the brokers.” He said that’s something other Lee & Associates offices have done in other markets around the country.
